We have arrived in Edindurgh

At last , after months of preparation, we have arrived in Edinburgh and seen rain for the first time in weeks. Our Dazzle exhibition at the Traverse Theatre is up and running and the  set up went very smoothly, thanks to the efforts of  our team of Dazzle helpers, who are all brilliant. We have of course been working very hard but on Thursday evening we went to the Scottish Gallery, for the opening of Grace Girvan’s one person show. Grace has been a Dazzle regular since her graduation from Edinburgh College of Art and it was wonderful to see such a collection of  stunning new work.

On Friday evening we went to the workshop opening of Coburg Studios, where several of our designers have workshops. This is always very well attended and great fun. It is good for us to see work other than jewellery. After a quick drink at the Roseleaf, an amazing pub near Coburg, where they serve cocktails in teapots, we went for supper to the new branch of Chop Chop in Leith. It was the first Chinese restaurant we have ever been in  where there were no Chinese staff or diners. Quite a bizarre experience!

On Sunday we will head north into Fife for the Pittenweem Arts Festival, one of our favourite events of the year. Hopefully the weather will be kind and we shall enjoy wandering round the many art exhibitions held all over the town inside private houses. It is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a day at the seaside, chatting with artists and makers and having a nosey round other peoples’ houses. The day will be finished off to perfection by a visit to the best Fish and Chip shop at Anstruther.
