Karen creates bold, playful, colourful jewellery from resin and silver. She’s inspired by linear shapes found in nature, and recurring patterns. We asked Karen to tell us a bit about her work.
Describe your work in 3 words
Colourful, tactile, weightless.
What inspires you?
I love the simplicity of both Japanese and Scandinavian design and botanical shapes. I really enjoy playing around with colour combinations.
If you weren’t a jewellery designer what do you think you would be?
When I was younger I wanted to be a vet as I love animals…but being squeamish is a bit of a drawback!
What tool can’t you live without?
My big chunky file, I use it daily!
Which famous person or personality would you most love to see wearing your jewellery?
Someone like Natalie Portman as her style is understated and minimal so I think she’d really suit some bold colourful jewellery!
What’s your favourite piece on lovedazzle?
I’d love one of Marianne Anderson’s beautiful oxidised rings with Garnet. (Image right)
