The most exciting piece I ever made was probably the first piece I made using my own technique of folding and forging. It has been an organic journey of discovery ever since. I enjoy pushing the metal to extreme

What tool can’t you live without?
My trusty hammer. It is my most precious possession. I’ve had it since I was a student.
What do you listen to while you work?
In my cosy octagonal garden workshop I listen to the BBC World Service.
